The Frederick County Democratic Central Committee does not endorse Democratic candidates in a contested primary election. However, we encourage you to help the campaign of your choice in any way you see fit.

ELECTIONS 2024

Frederick County voters* will cast their votes in 2024 for President of the United States, U.S. Senate (Maryland), Congressional District 6, and three seats on the Frederick County Board of Education. Democratic voters will also cast their votes for Delegates to the Democratic National Convention.


DATES TO REMEMBER IN 2024

  • PRIMARY - EARLY VOTING: Thursday, 2 May - Thursday, 9 May
    Early voting centers are open 7 AM - 8 PM, including Saturday and Sunday.

  • PRIMARY ELECTION: Tuesday, 14 May
    • Polls are open 7 AM - 8 PM
  • MAIL-IN VOTING (wording from the Frederick Co. Board of Elections website)
    • Any registered voter may vote by mail-in ballot. You don't need a reason to vote by mail-in ballot. It's another way to vote if you don't want to or can't go to an early voting center or your polling place. Learn more here.
  • BALLOT DROP BOX LOCATIONS (wording from the Frederick Co. Board of Elections website)
    • In 2024, the Frederick County Board of Elections will have 10 convenient, secure, and monitored locations to drop off your ballot! Ballot drop boxes are under 24-hour surveillance. The approved Drop Box locations are listed here.

*Unaffiliated voters will have the opportunity to cast their votes in the primary for the Board of Education race.

REDISTRICTING

Important: Political district boundaries changed in 2022!
Election officials finalized changes to County, State, and Congressional districts. These boundaries are adjusted every ten years, based on how the population changes, and help to make sure that the people in each district are equally represented.
